The Davidka Mortar
The Davidka is a 3 inch (76.2 mm) homemade Israeli mortar used during the early stages of the 1948 Israeli War of Independence. It was named for its inventor, David Leibowitch.
Its bombs were very inaccurate but extremely loud, a fact that turned to be efficient in terrifying opponent troops from the Arab armies which fought against the young state, away from their outposts.
In total only six units of this mortar were produced and it was put into first use in March 13, 1948.
